About the Business
Riddled with the journalism gene bestowed on her by her father she reappraised her view that following in his footsteps showed a lack of imagination in a world awash with exciting careers with less anti-social hours. And so it was that she swapped the glamour of the cosmetics industry for the rain sodden streets of Stockport where she learned the hard way to be a district reporter. After serving her time on two weekly newspapers, Lynn landed a job on the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo as a news reporter. Seven months of split shifts later, she was ashamed to admit even to herself that she applied for the first specialist job that came up purely because specialists were not, in theory, required to work shifts or weekends. In taking up her post as health and social services correspondent for the Daily Post and Echo, where she won a British Press Award for campaigning journalism, she ignited a passion for health and social affairs that shapes her professional life to this day.
