About the Business
Marketing Lancashire, formerly Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board, was established in April 2012 with Paul Heathcote MBE as the Chair of the Board and Ruth Connor as its first Chief Executive. As the destination management organisation (DMO) for Lancashire we work closely with VisitEngland and a wide range of public and private sector agencies. Our activities in marketing and communications, commercial membership and place marketing are all designed to grow the visitor economy and develop the destination as a great place to visit, work and invest.
Most recent figures (2013) show that Lancashire attracted 63 million visitors, who contributed £3.5 billion to the local economy and helped support 56,137 jobs.
